I feel I need to say something...

Taking the opportunity given by Sonya's post about Greece and my long absence from blogging, I wanted to say a warm thank you to all the people who have been interested in the situation of Greece and the problems the Greek people is coping with, and even try to read between the lines and understand the real issues that we are facing...
Greek people is indeed fighting for its survival and dignity in a hostile environment! We have no control of our lives anymore and  those responsible for our dead-end situation are well protected while we are been attacked!...

I am deeply influenced by this situation, with mood swings reaching from depression to rage and back again, therefore my miniatures safehouse is not that safe anymore...
I am watching you and your projects, though in silence, and I hope I'll be able to find my inspiration soon enough to join you!

Thank you for you thoughts and solidarity!

A big kiss
Anthoula

  2. Anthoula dear, I think of you often, especially every time I hear talk about the situation in Greece... Here in Italy the situation is not so critical, but if we continue at this rate we'll get there, because we too are ruled by thieves, corrupt fixers, and bankers!
I myself am out of work for three years now ...
I am sending you a close and supportive hug, you're always in my heart and I am sure that your positivity will help you overcome this difficult time :-)
    Mini hugs, Flora

  3. Anthoula dear, courage, even here in Italy the situation is likely to collapse, so we know how you feel, beyond the sea ... we are brothers, the same race, and unfortunately, we are ruled by corrupt people who see their portfolios always full, while our pockets are increasingly empty.
in Italy there are many people who do not have enough money to finish the month. and many young people and families out of work!
I am close to my heart, and hope that soon the situation will improve.
big hugs from the other side! :))

  4. Dear Anthoula, I cannot help much to what Flora and Caterina said.
Same race, same face we say of Greece and Italy and same governements too.
I often think of Greece because I'm waiting for the riots to begin here as well.
People are fed up of how things go and it wont take long before something explode and I am afraid that something really bad will happen.
I am lucky, I have a job, my partner as well, my Dad still gets his pension but how long this will last ?
I'll keep following newspapers , mostly foreigners , Italians ones tent to "forget" aka censor what truly happens, and I shall think of you even more. Mini hugs Rosanna

  9. I understand how you must feel, the situation of Greece is so dramatic and so worrying. I also understand your feeling of rage and depression.
It is frustrating because you and I, I mean "ordinary" people can't do a thing except try to cope even if we are not responsible.
    Good luck!

  11. I feel so sad when I read what you write, and I so understand your rage. Thoses times are so frightening, for Greek people - and not only. I want to believe that solutions will appear, from people with a conscience and a heart, although I know how devastated all the things are.
I hope you will find some relaxing rest and comforting very soon . You are really talented.

I hope you will feel better soon and that everything turns out well, so you can make your beautiful miniatures again.

  15. Anthoula I just read your post and I was so happy to listen from you again.I am Greek too and living in Athens isn't the best thing nowadays.I do though have to tell you this hoping that will give you some courage. I am unemployed for the last year by choice. Because I couldn't stand anymore that my boss was taking advantage of me. Things are really disappointing out there and as the time pass they will get worse. It is in our hands that fear won't get the best of us. It is in our hands that we do not lose hope.It is in our hands that we do not lose at the end our souls.I want to tell you and encourage you not to lose your smile.I know it is really hard but from the bottom of my heart and really honestly I wish that I could make you feel better.Be strong and have faith!
Creation is still a form of freedom!
    Kisses from Athens.

  17. Thank you my lovely ladies!

@Jollie and @ edo politexnoupoli (who live in Greece and know exactly what I mean...):
we should keep faith. YES! And hope. YES! But we should also fight for justice!

My favorite quote this period is borrowed from Ghandi: "Be the change you wish to see"...
    How extremely true!!!

    A big kiss to all...

  20. I cannot begin to imagine how horrible it is for you and for those in so many countries facing similar situations. My heart goes out to you and I pray for your safety and for peace for you. You know that there are people all around the world thinking of you and caring about you, and I hope that helps just a little.

  26. Happy New Year Anthoula. You have my best wishes that things will improve for you in Greece in 2012. We in Ireland are also experiencing terrible financial hardships. And, as you say, the fat cats are not touched. Sadly it looks as if this economic uncertainty is going to be with us for some years to come. I send you a warm embrace from the other side of Europe. Best wishes, Carol :) x

  28. The news from Greece is getting harder to grasp by the day. For what it's worth; here too, in Holland, the effects are passed down to those with the smallest purse! We've been struggling too as my partner and me also lost our jobs while the boss at the top walked away with 2.5 million. I realize its a small comfort but i understand all who are effected, black, white, young and old... but please... keep your chin high and your heart big and brave!!!!

  29. Life is what you make of it,the positive things that can be accomplished through sincere work and duty.Don't take life for granted but embrace it and take it one step at a time and enjoy every moment of it even when things seem haywire or at a distance, just continue doing what is right because in the end it has its great rewards.
